The City of Budapest
Budapest, situated on the Danube River, is the capital city of Hungary and a popular city trip destination. The city is paradise for explorers: romantic views from the bridges, Art Nouveau architecture, museums and thermal baths from modern establishments to Art Nouveau and traditional Turkish ones. Budapest consists of two cities, two clearly different parts. Buda with narrow winding street is the historical part and Pest is the commercial part with trendy shops and offices.
Budapest is an enchanting city with numerous sights and attractions. Highlights in Buda are: Castle Hill, Buda Royal palace, Fishermen’s Bastion, the Chain Bridge and Margaret Island. Highlights in Pest: Parliament, St Stephen’s Basilica, the Great Synagogue, the State Opera and Heroes’ Square. Add to this the many thermal baths and imposing avenues and squares, numerous museums and shady green parks and you know why a city trip to Budapest is an absolute must!
