The city of Berlijn

Berlin, capital city of Germany with 3.5 million inhabitants, is the largest city in the country. Although Berlin knows a long history, it is the recent history that marks the city. The Second World War and the post-war period were important periods in the city’s history and development. Present-day Berlin is a lively, buzzing city but also a city of contrasts. Whether you like clubbing, chic dining, shopping or classical concerts, Berlin has something for everyone.

Highlights

Many monuments and museums are related to Berlin’s war history and the cold war. However, Berlin has much more to offer! The city is home to more than 200 museums and sights such as Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburger Tor, Reichstag, East Side Gallery and the Holocaust-monument. Add to this, lots of must-see hotspots and you know why a three-day city trip to Berlin is too short!
