The I Amsterdam City Card has many advantages. It allows free entry to a large number of museums during your Amsterdam city trip. Your card is valid for the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Rembrandt House Museum. What’s more, GVB Amsterdam public transport, bus, tram metro is also included in your card.

How to use the I Amsterdam City Card?

After purchasing your I Amsterdam City Card online, you will receive the tickets for various museums, attractions and GVB public transport in Amsterdam. The choice is yours: have the card delivered to your home address (allow 6 working days for delivery) or collect it in Amsterdam. This can be done at the Amsterdam Store at Amsterdam Central Station. The City Card is activated when you first use it at museums, attractions or when you use public transport. At some museums and attractions you have to reserve a time slot in advance.

Free public transport

The I Amsterdam City Card includes free public transport of GVB buses, trams and metro in Amsterdam. Trams and buses run at an interval of 5 minutes in the city centre. When visiting atrractions outside the centre such as Artis Zoo or Johan Cruijff ArenA it is convenient to travel by public transport as it is fast and safe.

Free entry to attractions

The I Amsterdam City Card includes free entry to more than 40 attractions. The most famous museums and attractions to be visited for free are the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Rembrandt House Museum as well as Artis Zoo, NEMO Science Museum and Hermitage Amsterdam. When you have done enough sightseeing, seen enough museums, and strolled along the canals, it is time to relax. Attractions outside Amsterdam

The I Amsterdam City Card allows you not only to visit attraction in the city itself but also attractions in other parts of the Netherlands. Consider visiting Zaanse Schans, famous for its windmills, Muiderslot, a medieval castle, Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem. Also a boat trip to Volendam-Marken is very rewarding. These two picturesque fishing villages are close to Amsterdam. Here you can still see people in wearing traditional costume. It is also the best place to eat fresh fish and in particular smoked eel.

Note that public transport to these places outside Amsterdam is not included in the I Amsterdam City Card. It is recommended to buy an Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket, which is valid on all buses, trams, subways and trains in the Amsterdam Region.
